Mr. Tariq Malik is known for involvement in articulation of various
national level projects and establishment of imperative National IT
assets.
His personal vision is to:
"To contribute towards resolution of pressing issues of
society."
He believes in:
"Immersion of ICT for the benefit of society. Following a topdown approach; initiating at Government level, taking it to
other public sector verticals and then to common man."
He has the singular honour of operating as Chief Technology Officer,
Pakistan Army. Where he had the opportunity to bring about change and
apply his vision both for army and for the rest of the society. It required
an emulsion of business process re-engineering duly supported with fool
proof security systems.
Currently he is providing consultancy services to International and local
organisations on security of their critical infrastructure requiring utmost
secrecy and security from Techaccess platform.
He is "Member Advisory Board" of "Centre for Global and Strategic
Studies." A think tank based out of Islamabad, Pakistan. The centre
conducts studies on all sort of issues including security, environment,
social and economics.
He is also part of the Government e-commerce group, which is
instrumental in providing input to Government on payment systems and
ecommerce in Pakistan.
He is also working with Akhtar Fuiou Technologies, a joint venture
between Akhtar group and Fuiou (China) with several FinTech services, including mobile wallets, payroll services, international remittances,
RPA, AI/ML based products, etc. Fuiou is amongst the biggest financial
services provider in the world (China).
From Techaccess platform he also launched a Security Information and
Event Management product with User and Entity Behaviour Analytics
(UEBA), Cogito. The product has the capability to detect APTs using
advance Machine Learning Algorithms.
He was an Independent Director of Askari Bank management board,
where he chaired Board IT Committee and was member of Board Audit
and Compliance Committee and participant / contributor on Board Risk
Management Committee. His major contribution was in conversion of
board strategy into IT initiatives, policy making and establishment of
strict governance with audit policies.
Before providing services to Government he was at Sun Microsystems.
He provided services to regional telecom operators like EtiSalat, STC etc.
Financial institutions like NBAD, HB AG Zurich etc. He participated in
Design and Implementation of Dubai Internet City. Lead the
architecture and deployment team of the Dubai E-Government.
Participated in implementation of ARAMCO SAP project. The biggest
ever ERP project of that time. Performed Enterprise Security
Assessments of several large regional Banks, Defence and Telco
operators.
Represented Global Enterprise Security Services Group that led MENA
(Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan) Cyber Security Practice.
He has been honoured to deliver lectures in accredited national
institutions like National Defence University (NDU), National School of
Public Policy Lahore (NSPP), and National University of Science and
Technology (NUST).
Mr. Tariq Malik bears Honours in Applied and Information Science from
Edith Cowan University, Western Australia
