CGSS participated in the 13th Meeting of the SCO Forum in Astana, chaired by IWEP, Kazakhstan hosted by Institute of World Economic and Politics (4th – 5th May 2018)

On 4th and 5th May, 2018, the delegation of CGSS headed by Maj Gen Hafiz Masroor Ahmed, (Retd) –Vice President CGSS, including Mr. Jawad Majid Khan – Member Advisory Board CGSS and Capt. Tayyar Haider (Retd) – Member Advisory Board CGSS was invited to attend the 13th Meeting of the SCO Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan. CGSS was invited to participate in this Forum by Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IWEP).
The main aim and focus of the SCO Forum is to assist in the development of recommendations for the SCO Member States’ Summit, in 2018 it is proposed to prepare a joint analytical report titled ‘CURRENT Issues on the SCO’s Agenda under New Conditions. Mr. Yerzhan Saltybayev –Director of IWEP started the proceedings of the Forum by his opening remarks. Maj Gen Hafiz Masroor Ahmed, (Retd) gave presentation on “Pakistan’s Vision for SCO’s Future Prospects” in the First Plenary Session under the theme: “The importance and role of the SCO in the new geopolitical realties”. Mr. Jawad Majid – Advisory Board Member CGSS delivered speech on “Enhancement of Economic Cooperation Amongst Member States of SCO”.
