Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad Participation in Horasis Extraordinary Meeting organized by Horasis- The Global Visions Community, Switzerland

On 1st October 2020, the Horasis Extraordinary Meeting organized by Horasis- the Global Visions Community, Switzerland was held. The full-scale Horasis Extraordinary Meeting was held at the new ground-breaking digital conferencing platform. The meeting gathered 1000 of the most senior members of the Horasis Visions Community including several heads of governments and key ministers to overcome the profound economic, political, and social disruptions caused by Covid-19.
Lt Col Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, CGSS was part of a panel chaired by, Shterenberg Henry, President, International Business Hub, Founder, GTP Innovation Group, USA to discuss the theme, “Future-Proofing the Business”.
During the discussion, he highlighted “Future-Proofing the Business: Restructuring, Rejuvenating, and Reformulating the Strategies” and how the world will readjust to the changing dynamics of a new working environment post-COVID-19. He stated that, as the employees start returning to the workplace, it is important to know that there will be new workplace norms now that will include, masks, physical distance, reduced number of staff, and closed common spaces will be common now. The new norms are likely to create new workplace cultures.
He further discussed that during the pandemic, there were endless opportunities created for entrepreneurs who found it very convenient to start their online businesses and carry them forward successfully.
The panelists exchanged views regarding the business and workplace situations in their respective countries and agreed that there will be a new culture and workplace environment post-COVID-19 that will favor the younger generation entering the workforce as the shift from offline to online has been easily adaptable by them.
