Six weeks On-Campus Internship Program for the Under-Grad Students of Bahria University is being organized by Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad.
As part of their internship, CGSS organized a visit of interns to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) where an interactive session was held with Mr. Muhammad Nasir Mirza, President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). Mr. Osman Ashraf, Senior Vice President and Mr. Shahraiz A. Malik, Vice President of RCCI were also present during the session.
Mr. Muhammad Nasir Mirza extended gratitude to Center for Global & Strategic Studies. He appreciated the initiative of six weeks internship program by CGSS. He introduced RCCI that it is the oldest chamber in Pakistan, established in 1952 and also awarded with the Chamber of Pakistan this year.
Mr. Muhammad Nasir discussed the activities and initiatives of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and industry (RCCI). He stated that RCCI organizes a three days conference each year since last thirteen years. This Conference is well attended by President of all Chambers. He mentioned that RCCI is the only chamber which took delegations to Gwadar. He emphasized that it is an advantage to business community that they are free from all the political and religious refrains so they can easily work for regional cooperation.
Mr. Nasir mentioned that RCCI mainly supports cottage industry and startup initiatives, motivates the economy of Pakistan and it is working on Global entrepreneurship. Also, the initiative of glorious Rawalpindi is to make Rawalpindi clean and green. He stated that RCCI is the first green chamber of Pakistan which has rain water harvesting and use of solar energy. The discussion was followed by interactive session in which students asked questions and Ms. Summaya Khan, Student of 8th semester and CGSS Intern offered gratitude to RCCI on behalf of CGSS.
The visit was concluded by a tour of the Chamber and its various departments.
