CGSS arranged Talk on Foreign Policy Contours of Uzbekistan by H.E. Furqat A. Sidikov – Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan


On 26th April 2018, CGSS in collaboration with the Embassy of Republic of Uzbekistan organized a talk by H.E. Furqat A. Sidikov – Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan on “Foreign Policy Contours of Uzbekistan” at Islamabad Club. Mr. Ashfaq Ahmed Gondal –Senior Member Advisory Board CGSS moderated the interactive session. The aim and focus of the Talk was to describe core directions of Uzbekistan’s modern foreign policy. H.E Shavkat Mirziyoyev –President of Republic of Uzbekistan has confirmed that the Central Asia is a main priority. Good neighborhood partner relations are being consistently strengthened and cooperation between CARs is developing on the basis of high trust and mutual respect.
During the Talk H.E. Furqat A. Sidikov stated that at the regional level, Uzbekistan has seriously revised its approaches to expand practical cooperation with the CIS states and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. While concluding his speech, he stated that we must realize that this is our common region. We are connected to each other with one history, one religion and common values.
The event was graced by H.E Mr. Barlybay Sadykov – Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E Mr. Erik Beishembiev –Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic and H.E Mr. Atajan Movlamov –Ambassador of Republic of Turkmenistan. The Talk was also attended by senior members of CGSS Advisory Board, government representatives, retired armed forces officers, diplomats and research scholars.
