Seminar on “National Security Policy – Vision for Pakistan”


The Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) arranged a seminar on “National Security Policy – Vision for Pakistan”. The aim and focus of the seminar was National Security of Pakistan in connection with various intervening factors concerning Global and Regional Security dynamics. The Seminar highlighted international security environment, future projection and national security policy of regional and global powers with references to Pakistan. Broad national security framework was deliberated in which military strategy and economic security was inculcated as the cardinal aspect of national security policy of Pakistan.
The guest speakers of the seminar included:
1. Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua, HI(M), (Retd) - National Security Advisor to the Government of Pakistan – Chief Guest
2. Mr. Vladimir Norov - Director Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
3. Mr. Tim Willasey-Wilsey – Senior Visiting Research Fellow at Kings College London and Former Director at the UK Foreign and Common Wealth Office
4. Admiral Jayantha Perera - Former Naval Chief of Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka
5. Mr. Shijie Chu - Former Chief of Police in China and presently working as foreign policy, security expert
6. Dr. Ishrat Hussain - Former Governor State Bank of Pakistan
7. Lieutenant General Haroon Aslam HI (M), (Retd)
8. Ambassador Khalid Aziz Babar – Former Special Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
About 350 people including the senior members of CGSS Advisory Board, government representatives, retired armed forces officers, diplomats and students attended the Seminar.
