Ninth Session of the Online Internship Program “Contemporary Dynamics of Azerbaijan”

On 31st August 2020, the ninth session of the Online Internship Program “Contemporary Dynamics of Azerbaijan” was held. This internship program is initiated jointly by Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad, and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan.
The theme for the fourth week of this internship is related to Education & Science in Azerbaijan. Innovations & Objectives The session was commenced with the remarks of Major General Syed Khalid Amir Jaffery HI (M), (Retd), Executive Director, CGSS. He welcomed the students and guest speaker to this exclusive internship program and highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with Azerbaijan especially in the field of Education, Science & Technology.
Mr. Fariz İsmailzade, Executive Vice-Rector of ADA University, Baku, Azerbaijan was the speaker for this session, he explained the students regarding the various scholarship programs in the ADA University, Baku, Azerbaijan and also encouraged the participants to pursue their higher studies from Azerbaijan to experience their culture, society, and academia.
Furthermore, he gave an in-depth presentation related to the concept of Public Diplomacy and pillars of modern diplomacy including cultural festivals, economic diplomacy, and the importance of strengthening ties with the global community through modern public diplomacy.
He also emphasized the growing influence of NGOs, social projects, and other important actors that play a part in the influential diplomacy of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Fariz also discussed the concept of Nation Branding and mentioned various ways to promote it including, Multiculturalism, cuisine, festivals, and clothes. Some other important tools to promote Azerbaijan globally are the different platforms of social and digital media that has brought Azerbaijan closer to the world.
He highlighted and stressed on the importance of including young minds in the diplomatic programs as they are the driving force and the backbone of any country’s economy and development.
It is noteworthy that students from across Pakistan have enrolled for this exclusive Internship program. This program will prove to be a milestone in improving the bilateral diplomatic relations of Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
