Fourth session of the Online International Course on “The Community with Shared Future: Leading to a New Inclusive World” jointly organized by Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, and Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad

On 4th February 2021, the fourth session of the Online International Course “The Community with Shared Future: Leading to a New Inclusive World” was held. This course is jointly organized by Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, and Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad.
The theme of the fourth session was “ How Community with Shared Future can Facilitate in Handling Global Common Challenges” and the speaker for this session was Mr. Jean Christophe, Head, European Network of the Center for a Community with Shared Future, Paris, France.
He started by appreciating the efforts of Center for Global and Stratergic Studies and the partners, to facilitate this international online course that can help students to learn about cooperation and vision of community with shared future. He stated that international organizations have been ineffective to counter the common threats and make an inclusive mechanism.
Mr. Jean highlighted that the world is moving towards cooperation, which has been witnessed in this time of pandemic.
Despite having differences, the states confronted the global threat collectively. He stated that this constructive cooperation has happened for the first time in the human history.
He discussed that global cooperation is essential for overcoming the differences and addressing the common challenges faced by the countries across the globe. Furthermore, he emphasized, that for collective development and prosperity, countries must understand the concept of a community with a shared future and its global impacts.
Mr. Jean also proposed three main pre-requisites to strengthen the vision of a community with shared future. First, the need to rebuild the spirit for multilateral cooperation. In recent times, collective efforts are required by the involvement of an effective government policy.
Second, to have an open mind set for new avenues and visions like community with shared future. Third, to take collective measures and initiate dialogue among civilizations which is vital. These joint efforts will help to limit the existing differences. Moreover, mutual respect would be created that can facilitate future prospects for global cooperation and constructive engagement.
