International Business Skills Summer School Program Organized By Bahria University Islamabad With Amsterdam University Of Applied Sciences In Collaboration With Center for Global & Strategic Studies, Islamabad

An exclusive Summer School Program on ‘International Business Skills' was held by Bahria University Islamabad campus with the key resource person - Dr. Sander Schroevers, a PhD Professor from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences alongside prestigious guest speaker sessions arranged in collaboration with the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad. This Summer School was organized from 8th – 13th August, 2021.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mian Abdul Rauf, Former Advocate-General Islamabad & Prosecutor-General of Pakistan under the Protection of Pakistan Act, Vice Admiral Asaf Humayun, Mr. Jawad Majeed, President of Summit Bank, Barrister Waqas Aziz Qureshi, Senior Law Expert and Managing Partner at Transect, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director CGSS, were among the worthy speakers.
Students from Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore participated in the Summer School Program, where these noteworthy top professionals spoke about the ever-emerging business world, leadership skills, efficient time management and women empowerment.
The sessions with Dr. Sander Schroevers, PhD Professor from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences provided participants with opportunities to improve their international communication skills as well as gain practical experience. He further aided the students to conclude that globalization is just “global is Asian”.
The participants had a chance to have hands-on experience by professionals by paying a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan spoke to the students about new opportunities and the changing dynamics of the world, as well as how Pakistan may play a significant role while maximizing its benefits in the business world. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan talked about planning and construction of a mindset that promotes tourism to recover the deficit of billions that Pakistan is currently in. He encouraged the idea of entrepreneurships among the young – a learning mindset and being business oriented.
Barrister Waqas, Senior Law Expert and Managing Partner at Transect provided perspective that resonated with Dr. Sander’s further when he said that Pakistan needs to benefit from the economic gain by having a global powerhouse, knowledge, and CPEC as an equal partner and not someone that drags us along. Pakistan needs to plan National Power where we decipher how to make optimal use of our assets and strategic positioning.
Mian Abdul Rauf, Former Advocate-General Islamabad & Prosecutor-General of Pakistan under the Protection of Pakistan Act presented his perspective that was having a legal framework, economic paradigm, further research of statistical data and based on these factors a vision that leads Pakistan to a stronger economy.
The attendees were also treated to an adventurous hike to the picturesque and scenic Margalla hills all the way to La Montana. Students applauded Bahria University for putting on such a significant event full of safety and adventure. The Summer School 2021 came to its end with motivated youth, new opportunities and souvenirs as appreciation to the panelist for their enlightening perspectives.
Bahria University has academic collaborations with universities in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, China, and the Netherlands. These collaborations are centered on student and faculty exchange programmers, collaborative research, trainings, internships, and joint curriculum creation
