Visit of Prof. Dr. Shabir Ahmad Khan – Director, Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar to CGSS

On 18th July 2019, Prof. Dr. Shabir Ahmad Khan – Director, Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar visited CGSS and met Major General Syed Khalid Amir Jaffery HI(M), (Retd) – President CGSS and Mr. Ashfaq Ahmad Gondal – Former Federal Secretary of Information and Senior Member Advisory Board CGSS. Prof. Dr. Shabir briefed about the various initiatives taken by the Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar for the promotion of friendly ties between Pakistan, Russia, China and Central Asia. The arrangements for the upcoming International Conference titled “Belt and Road Initiative, (BRI) China – Pakistan Economic Corridor and Trans-Regional integration” at Area Study Center, University of Peshawar were also discussed. The visiting dignitary appreciated the role of CGSS in facilitation of the subject conference to be held in September 2019. He expressed his gratitude and thanked CGSS for its support and stated that such Conference on a large scale would not have been possible without the support of CGSS.
